Job Description

At EIA you become part of a tightly knit team, working in a supportive environment, dedicated to fulfilling our vision of more flights to more places.Air Service Development Student2 Full-Time, University/College Summer Students (May to August)POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Manager, Air Service Development, the Air Service Development Student will execute activities in support of EIA’s air service, marketing and business development opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to, attending and activating a creative presence at key events in Edmonton and surrounding area, assisting with gathering and compiling market information on travel demand patterns from passengers, businesses and the community through surveys and, as well as supporting the air service and marketing teams on the many initiatives ongoing in the recovery of EIA’s air service program. The assistant will be required to communicate and engage with the public in a positive and energetic manner and be able to speak to EIA’s air service options, EIA rewards, concessions, and parking.POSITION SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop and execute a plan to survey and gather data to understand local travel patters from passengers, business and the community in support of air service options
  • Support the air service and marketing teams on event preparation, sales and marketing campaigns and other initiatives
  • Support the team with data entry, tracking, and file organization
  • Develop a creative approach for a booth and promotional presence for Edmonton International Airport, including coordinating promotional materials and equipment needs
  • Attend and ensure the delivery of EIA’s presence at select local events, festivals, as well as corporate and in-terminal activations
  • Ensure a strong understanding for and ability to speak to EIA’s non-stop routes, airlines, terminal services, parking products, EIA rewards, and Airport City partners
  • Represent Edmonton International Airport by promoting non-stop air service, EIA rewards, and parking through interactions and engagements with event attendees
  • Coordinate schedules, equipment and material requirements, set up and take down for each event and communicate with event organizers for logistics and event-specific requirements
  • Coordinate and execute contesting, promotional giveaways and follow ups with data entry and post-event reports
  • Collaborate in partnership with other entities on opportunities to promote EIA air service
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Successful candidate must be a student currently enrolled in a post-secondary program or registered to attend one in the fall. Transcript or proof of enrollment must be provided with submission of application.
  • Preference will be given to candidates in a related field such as: Business, Marketing, Tourism
  • Valid Alberta Driver’s License with a clean driving record and ability to use personal vehicle.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with availability to work most weekends (Friday – Sunday) and possible evenings during the week (with a flexible schedule maxing out at 37.5 hours per week).
  • Ability to work well as a team member and independent with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and is outgoing and sociable
  • Ability to take initiative and work productively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Creative thinker, enthusiastic and positive energy
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and a acceptable criminal record check
  • Availability to work on weekends, evenings, and holidays
Edmonton Airports is currently supporting a temporary hybrid work arrangement with a balanced approach of on site and at home work. This is a temporary privilege arrangement and is based on position, demands, ability to work from home successfully and manager discretion.
