Job Description

Title: CNC (computer numerical control) lathe operator - metal machiningLocation: 1720 - 13 Street, Nisku, AB, T9E 1K1Term: Full-Time, PermanentNOC: 9417

About Us Force is a rapidly growing leader in tubular inspection and repair whose success is founded on its uncompromising personal commitment to customer satisfaction in the delivery of quality solutions.About the Position Reporting to the Machining Supervisor, the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator is responsible for safe and efficient operation of CNC machines, customer service, quality, operational performance and efficiency.Your Duties
  • Operate CNC DMG Mori and Haas TL3 lathes properly to cut chase and repair API and Premium connections.
  • Dialing in parts using a four-jaw manual chuck within .005”
  • Minor adjustment to conversational programming
  • Making adjustments to offsets as needed to machine an acceptable part
  • Performs setups and tool touch offs including cutting height alignment checks
  • Performs regular preventative equipment maintenance and cleanup of equipment as per company policy.
  • Use company supplied, quality-controlled measuring instruments to verify parts meet specifications within .0005”
  • Maintains service reputation and customer satisfaction with proper and timely job execution.
  • Performs within the companies acceptable NCR rate and expected production target
  • Complies with Force Inspection’s Health & Safety program and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Your Qualifications
  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience operating CNC lathes, with a focus on API and premium connections.
  • Experience dialing and operating a four-jaw manual chuck
  • Experience repairing, and manufacturing of oilfield tubular products.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified facility
  • Experience programming in conversational or G-code is considered an asset
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  • Be able to work with little supervision.
  • Superior detail orientation; values accuracy and has high standards around quality of work.
  • Any technical qualifications including Red Seal Journeyman Ticket, WHIMS, First Aid, are considered asset.
  • Knowledge of API.
  • Must be willing to occasionally work overtime, weekends, or as needed.
