As a draftsperson, you will contribute to the PCL team by producing and reviewing piping drawings at our fabrication facility in Nisku, Alberta.Heres how a(n) Draftsperson for our Edmonton Industrial Management office contributes to our team:Responsibilities

  • Understands client engineering deliverables including piping isometrics, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Produces pipe spool drawings using client-supplied piping isometrics / GA drawings.
  • Verifies self‐check and corrects all work prior to submittal for review to Checker.
  • Meets and/or exceeds minimum individual performance production and quality metric rate requirements and benchmarks.
  • Ensures drafting style is consistency between drawings as per PCL drafting standards.
  • Interprets and implements technical direction received from supervisor and work independently to develop clear and concise drawings that will be checked by spool checker prior to being completed and issued.
  • Prioritizes and manages drafting tasks to support the schedule due dates for projects.
  • Coordinates drafting workload with spool checker and drafting supervisor as needed to support workload.
  • Confirms with other Draftspersons, spool checker or drafting supervisor to ensure design intent is achieved at the beginning of the design/drafting process.
  • Performs basic document control functions.
  • Ensures drafting standards and processes are current and being followed.
  • Audits drawings before being entered in to manufacturing system.
  • Manages client specifications in drafting software.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrates knowledge of dimensioning and shop fabrication practices.
  • Ability to work independently on various projects, producing detailed and assembly drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organization and motivation skills.
  • Proficiency with AcornPipe and Windows suite of products.
  • Basic knowledge of ASME/API/CSA piping codes, engineering details, material specifications and isometrics.
  • Ability to work with project team on various projects, producing detailed and assembly drawings.
  • Demonstrates thoroughness of detail review of work and has strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities/priorities and tasks on a regular basis.
