We strive to provide our employees with meaningful and challenging work, and an engaging and collaborative environment.Michels Canada headquarters is based in Nisku, Alberta, Canada.DESCRIPTIONMichels Canada is looking for an Equipment Coordinator who can contribute ongoing support for maximum utilization of equipment assets to corporate services team. As an experienced equipment coordinator, you will be responsible for fulfilling requests and coordinating the release, transfer, and return of Michels equipment. The successful candidate will be performing a wide range of tasks and support around equipment, including scheduling, budgeting, and balancing the equipment pool to satisfy the needs of the plans. This position will be based in Nisku, Alberta, Canada and is a permanent full-time opportunity.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management, allocation, and utilization of Equipment
  • Monitor the equipment project allocation, processing the check-in of equipment, timely returns and transfers
  • Schedule assistance transferring equipment; coordinate equipment picks up/transfer
  • Develop and implement plans for managing equipment inventory and allocation
  • Ensure accurate asset inventory and associated records are consistently maintained and readily available
  • Perform and review audits of yard inventory records
  • Investigate inconsistencies of missing equipment and errors, ensuring accuracy and completeness in records
  • Maintain open communication with Operations team and management to ensure needs are met
  • Perform data entry into systems with a high degree of accuracy. Scan, organize, and file documentation
  • Write, analyze, and maintain a variety of reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools and/or software
  • Provide administrative assistance to the department
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a fleet coordination and management role
  • Excellent understanding of Equipment knowledge
  • Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, analytical and planning skills
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract (within 30 days of date of hire)
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • College of degree in Logistics, Transportation, or related field would be an asset
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • The ability to work independently with good judgement without constant supervision
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, dynamic environment
  • Basic mechanical and/or electrical background would be considered an asset
  • Experience in coordination/ management of construction projects
EDUCATION
  • College of degree in Logistics, Transportation, or related field would be an asset
LANGUAGES
  • Strong written and oral communication in English is required
