Your Opportunity at Michels CanadaReporting to the Transportation & Fleet Compliance Manager, the Equipment Telematics Specialist serves as a key member that will oversee the management and maintenance of various GPS systems and ELD devices in commercial and off road industrial equipment. This individual will be responsive for weekly and monthly reporting, and KPI tracking for mobile rolling stock and will provide comprehensive information to division leaders across the organization. Critical to success will be the ability to handle confidential information professionally, and maintaining accurate organization sets of data. Reporting to the Transportation & Fleet Compliance Manager, the Equipment Telematics Specialist serves as a key member that will oversee the management and maintenance of various GPS systems and ELD devices in commercial and off road industrial equipment. Critical to success will be the ability to handle confidential information professionally, and maintaining accurate organization sets of data.Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Collaborate with shop mechanics for all GPS and ELD device installation processes and ensures quality control of data management.
  • Utilize various data software systems such as Geotab, Isaac Instruments and Verizon for asset tracking and reporting.
  • Develop installation and troubleshooting procedural documentation for project personnel.
  • Collaborate with fleet department for new assets that require device installations.
  • Develop and maintain digital unit binder for mandatory vehicle documentation.
  • Maintain and report speed violation trends to Transportation & Fleet Compliance Manager.
  • Other duties as asigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Post secondary certificate in related field, such as Wireless Technology, Computer Programming, Instrumentation or similar.
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to troubleshoot and configure telematics setup softwares. Note: Training will be provided for proprietary configuration softwares.
  • Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems.
  • Strong drive to deliver high quality work under operational deadlines and constraint
  • Ability to self-manage with various coordination and planning abilities
