To learn more about us, visit our website.If this sounds like somewhere you’d like to work, see below for our latest hiring opportunity.Is This Role for YouReporting to the Manager, Enterprise Applications, the Field Technician in this position is responsible for installing, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification of security system integrations. Scope of work includes technical assistance, systems checkout of new and existing installations, troubleshooting and maintenance and repair routines associated with installed systems and the installation of small or less complex projects.This technician will also be responsible for supporting other Technology related field work with UPS replacements, data center support including replacement of hardware devices e.g. switches.Day in The Life

  • Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a substantial variety of security systems and equipment. Assignments are broad in nature and may require a high level of ingenuity and proficiency.
  • Performing various product reconfigurations, removals or relocations as required.
  • Reads complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation requirements; Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using advanced test instruments and hand tools.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug a substantial variety of systems for complex problems. Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
  • Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions. Writes non-routine programs of substantial variety and complexity for systems.
  • Takes ownership of onsite project including safety, quality, and performance.
  • May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation.
  • Support the lifecycle and installation of smaller UPS units, datacenter, and communication room equipment
  • Consults with technology personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
  • Maintaining inventory counts of equipment.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
You Have:
  • Diploma in Electronics, Communications or relevant trade experience.
  • Minimum of five years of previous Security Systems field service experience required in one or more of the following: Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, wireless and hardwired security systems such as
  • basic alarm Knowledge/troubleshooting and installation
  • basic controlled access knowledge troubleshooting and installation
  • Install various CCTV camera types, both analog and digital IP system Must be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., work with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Very strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrate a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working.
  • Lift training required.
  • Must have a positive “can do” attitude and willingness to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Install, terminate, test, label and document horizontal, backbone and other cables
  • Advanced technical skills and experience related electronic security systems
  • Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
