Job Description

Norwood Foundry Limited is a leading quality castings and waterworks company operating out of Nisku, AB – just south of Edmonton. We are celebrating our 117th anniversary this year and we are so excited to keep growing and expanding our team. We are currently hiring a General Labourer for a full-time, permanent position!This is a Permanent Full-Time position, hours are Monday to Friday 5:00AM to 2:00PM.Starting wage is at $24.00/hr.Benefits:

General Tasks Include:
  • Following gauge temperature readings and product criteria to cast molds.
  • Clean and smooth molds, cores, and core boxes, and repair surface imperfections.
  • Spot, fit and assemble various mold components to close tolerance using hand and power tools.
  • Position cores into sections of molds and reassemble molds for pouring.
  • Tend machines that bond cope and drag together to form completed shell molds.
  • Cut spouts, runner holes, and sprue holes into molds.
  • Any other duties assigned by the business.
Requirements:
  • Not required but experience working in a Foundry is an asset.
  • Not required but experience in a Molding/Core Maker role is an asset.
  • Not required but a working knowledge of ISO9001:2015 standards is an asset.
  • Good physical condition, capable of repetitive lifting and physical labor.
  • Able to work in an environment that may include exposure to dust, moving mechanical parts and noise.
  • Strong skills in measurements and mechanical aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail and one who takes pride in their work.
  • Odd jobs as required to meet the needs of he business.
