Provides the appropriate personnel with information in support of decision making and assists members of the organization in effectively executing their responsibilities with respect to the HSE MS; Provides analyses, appraisals, recommendations, investigation review and support, coaching, and information concerning the activities reviewed and the adequacy and the effectiveness of the organization’s HSE MS.Responsibilities

  • Maintains responsibility for all aspects of the HSE MS assurance visit process: including performing visits, assurance personnel development, scheduling of visit teams, and visit follow-up
  • Provides effective coaching and mentoring to operations personnel and demonstrates a disciplined approach to the Company’s policies, processes, and procedures; drives the implementation of the MS and measures compliance throughout the organization
  • Reviews and updates assurance and assessment protocols designed to evaluate compliance and causes of gaps with documented policies and procedures
  • Communicates HSE information and gathers data that can demonstrate improvement of HSE performance at the rig/facility level through usage and compliance with the HSE MS
  • Provides coaching for rig/facility management regarding the implementation and effective management of the HSE MS
  • Plans, executes, and monitors activities to achieve assurance visit plan
  • Evaluates significance of nonconformities
  • Compiles and maintains records associated with management system assurance visits and assessments
  • Ensures compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable regulations and other internal/external requirements
  • Follows up the corrective actions that result from assurance findings, incidents, and near misses and ensures that all items are closed and followed up for effectiveness
  • Performs trend analysis and monitors performance metrics for the implementation and effectiveness of HSE MS Processes and Tools
  • Prepares and reports quarterly assurance results summaries; develops HSE MS Annual Review Report
  • Maintains knowledge of trends in industry and changes to applicable code standards
  • Assists in developing goals, policies and procedures, risk-based assurance plan
  • Ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures through activities such as performing quality review of assurance
  • Demonstrates quality and consistency of execution of the HSE MS by establishing Standards, Procedures and Tools
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, including industry benchmarking
  • Works with management to develop an understanding and proper use of adequate risk assessment, incident investigation, nonconformance and corrective action
  • Identifies competency gaps and assists with coaching and development plans
  • Assists in the management of HSE MS Document Control
Knowledge & SkillsMicrosoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint – advanced levelsKnowledge of audit procedures and requirementsStrong SAP knowledge with access to sensitive information as needed for analytics and reporting requirementsStrong communication skills and an ability to work at all levels, both verbally and writtenMotivation to develop skills associated to strong administrative supportAbility to handle multiple tasks on daily basisStrong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines; Ability to perform under stressful conditionsAbility to maintain accurate and detailed information (through written skills and data entry)Ability to identify and implement improvementsKnowledge of Industry and Field practices and operationsTeam player and able to provide leadership and directionEducationBachelor’s degree in Health Safety and Environment or equivalent qualification preferredHSE and/or Audit industry recognized/applicable Certification preferredExperience+5 years of experience as an HSE Auditor or investigator with applicable auditor or investigator training; prior experience managing audits.Experience in Upstream Oil and Gas.Experience in ISO, COR, OSHA, and/or OHSAS.Proficient in Canada and USA regulatory, standards, and industry best practices.Quick Apply
