We are looking for a passionate people leader who has been involved with organizational transformation and project management. This position will be based out of our head office in Nisku, AB.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Manage the Michels Canada IT team. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; providing feedback; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Maintain open communication with divisional and departmental leads to identify and implement tools to drive better communication, process-management, and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with management team to coordinate and optimize efforts to achieve IT organizational objectives.
  • Establish, grow, and enhance collaborative relationships with operational business partners to explore opportunities and alternatives to meet business needs. Provide value-added input and alternatives and facilitate requirements definition whenever appropriate.
  • Manage and work with external resources as “virtual” project teams.
  • Develop, implement and maintain "best in class" support to deliver high and consistent service levels to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain open communication with divisional and departmental leads to identify and implement tools to drive better communication, process-management and reporting tools.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, trends, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 years of experience leading a technical team
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working as a liaison between IT and another business focus, or experience working on large, cross-functional projects
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Participated in or lead a major business transformation team and project
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years of IT business analyst and/or IT project management experience, or an equivalent combination.
LANGUAGES
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
