Job Description

When you join Energy Safety Canada, you are part of a team committed to getting workers home safely every day.What is the opportunity:Reporting to the Manager, IT Applications, the IT Support Analyst will work within Energy Safety Canada’s policies and procedures to provide application support and troubleshooting, system testing and documentation, end user support and enhancements to applications.Work location could be either Calgary or Nisku, Alberta depending on student’s residence.What will you do:

  • Provide application support to business units in an effective and efficient manner with the use of proven troubleshooting methods and techniques. This may include hands-on support of computer and AV hardware, as needed.
  • Record, track, document, and escalate end user issues using ITIL processes and incident management software. Monitor issues for trends and escalate as appropriate.
  • Communicate early and often with clients and teammates regarding outstanding issues to ensure good communication with clients throughout incident investigation and resolution process. Exhibit a great deal of patience with users with little to no technical knowledge.
  • Provide meaningful incident management dashboard for management review and corrective actions.
  • Document and conduct technical testing for problems, resolutions, patches, and upgrades with IT team and vendors.
  • Other duties as required
What you need to succeed:
  • Student in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering or Business Analysis
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven interpersonal, teamwork, and relationship building skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of ITIL processes especially on incident and problem management
  • Working knowledge of current Web technologies, including HTML, AJAX, ASP.Net and SQL
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
