Job Description

JOB SUMMARYThe Inventory Specialist is responsible for all Inventory activities as it relates to the Nisku tank division. This position would be the first point of contact for all inventory related items and will represent the Nisku Tank division and the company to our customers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sourcing and ordering parts from vendors &/or suppliers as well as regular stock used
  • Create and process work orders for the shop and service department for all inventory related items
  • Managing of inbound and outbound parts and shipments as well as transferring inventory of specific parts to other branches
  • Create new part numbers in accordance with established guidelines and charge to repair orders
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts and reconciliation for all parts and inventory items in the branch
  • Conduct and lead year end physical and audits on inventory related items
  • Create min/max ordering on all parts and inventory items
  • Create and monitor branch inventory turns
  • Establish appropriate GVB value for inventory related items for the division
  • Manage vendor relationships and cost control as it relates to inventory items and shop supplies
  • Develop suppliers relationship for all regions AFD conducts business activities
  • Manage and negotiate pricing with suppliers
  • Manage product costing for branch sales to customers
  • Digitally manage inventory and create weekly reports
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data entry
  • Answer incoming calls and provide customer service in a professional manner
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent branch inventory organization and cleanliness
  • Identifying and implementation of process improvements for inventory process
  • Providing management with inventory forecast requirements
  • Other related duties as required or assigned.
  • Assist in pricing for new assets and customers sales
  • Physically picking up parts will be required in some cases
OTHER KEY SKILLS (or product knowledge)
  • Experience working with the major fuel providers and equipment for fuel systems and tanks
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and e-mail required
  • Knowledge of P.O process considered an asset
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
EXPEREINCE3+ years’ experience in inventory related positionEDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPost-secondary finance or inventory control diplomaDECISION MAKINGDivision InventoryWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office/field setting. There may be a need to attend to situations on work sites. Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Exposure to noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils may occur. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and listen.POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position.
