As a result, Apex can offer our customers a vast product selection with the latest technologies and prudent inventory management.Procurement plays a significant role in our strategy to assist our customers in their effort to reduce operating costs and effectively manage their purchasing process. The ability to provide products and services at market competitive prices is a critical component of our distribution service groupApex is currently seeking a Procurement Development Administrator. This position will preferably be based out of our Nisku, Alberta location. Nisku is home to our Central Warehouse, Valve Service branch and the Distribution branch.Duties:Vendor Management:

  • Develop and sustain effective and professional relationships with suppliers through regular in-person meetings and business networking
  • Identify suitable vendors; pre-qualifying suppliers. Conducting research to assess products, inquire about services; negotiate pricing and contracts, communicating any product or service-related concerns.
  • Continually monitor sales trends and identifying potential supply chain risk in order to mitigate supply disruptions.
  • Communicating regularly with established vendors and maintaining standards to evaluate the performance of suppliers; ensuring that they fulfill their contractual obligations. Following up on vendor non-conformances and problem solve conflicts.
  • Evaluating supplier proposals, making recommendations, negotiating supplier contracts and enhancing the ongoing procurement strategic development.
  • Establish positive and productive relationships with all Apex field locations and managers to safeguard their unique supply chain requirements.
  • Provide support to branches on daily inventory and operational related tasks and implementing best practices
  • Collaborating with key members to establish and execute process improvement initiatives which impact supply chain transparency
  • Maintain and assist in the ongoing reporting and management of company stale inventory.
  • Identify and capitalize on purchasing opportunities with consolidated and/or centralized purchases, creating maximum cost protection and securing inventory
Master Data Support:
  • Item master creation, maintenance, data entry and reporting.
  • Analyze, cleanse and enrich master data elements and objectives, striving for continuous improvement
  • Provide master data inputs and generate reports for inventory analysis, distribution, vendors, procurement, forecasting.
  • Review requests for completeness and respond accurately & in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improving data management
  • Help develop data standards, implement and maintain master data management solutions.
  • Managing and setting internal sku values and vendor pricing contracts. Supporting profitability maximization
  • Cross-train with the other member of the procurement development team to ensure adequate backup for all areas.
  • Undertake special projects as may be required or get assigned
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of supply chain planning, inventory control, and/or distribution processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with different departments including Apex managers
  • High level of professionalism with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Data collection and manipulation experience
  • Excellent critical thinking capabilities to troubleshoot and resolve conflicts
  • Strong industry product knowledge a must
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
