Job Description

  • Address customer technical needs through customer engagement. Plan, arrange, execute, monitor, record and report field testing of fluids. Utilise such field trials for validation of product in the field, as proof of performance of product and for OEM approvals
  • Address customer inquiries on product applications, troubleshooting, technical solutions and product benefits
  • Engage with internal and external customers to understand their needs and be the conduit to the performance teams on industry technical needs/trends.
  • Conduct various performance tests as per ASTM methods.
  • Manage the execution of performance tests done by external labs
  • Develop new customized test methods to address fluid validation needs and ensuring continuous improvement of lab capabilities and that all tests are conducted and executed safely.
  • Ensure that customer inquiries are properly understood and addressed, and customer samples are properly tested and their results interpreted
  • Educate internal and external customers on Recochem solutions, why its available and how they can benefit from its use.
  • Assist Sales and commercial team to acquire both OEM and aftermarket new business and maintain existing business by providing the right level of technical support.
  • Provide support to ISO17025 certification
What you will Require:
  • BSc in Chemistry/Metallurgy or Chemical/Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferably, minimum five years’ experience in technical service/product support role and project management. Strong strategic understanding and ability to align customer and business with technical strategies.
  • Good working knowledge of engines and their thermal management systems.
  • Familiar with various OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and ASTM Tests related to automotive fluids
  • Good knowledge of experimental design and applying it to simulate real life conditions to determine root cause and solve problems.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma and SMART goal setting
  • Ability to develop and deliver concise, effective and creative presentations to internal and external customers at all job levels.
  • Strong inter-personal and team-building skills and the ability to effectively handle conflict and diversity.
  • Ability to listen and understand customer’s inquiries and complaints, break them down into actionable path forwards and take necessary actions to provide recommendation and feedback to address the inquiries or resolve the complaint
  • Familiarity with ASTM lab techniques and methods
  • Demonstrable knowledge of statistical techniques and/ or approaches for evaluation of work quality
  • Ability to educate both technical and non-technical personnel on new technologies, fluid products chemistries and applications
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with urgency via prioritization and program management skills to achieve business results in a timely manner
  • Good listening skills and the ability to support the overall team confidently and respectfully.
  • Experience in development of new products and solutions, new test methods and technical troubleshooting.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing technical/scientific reports
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Project management tools
  • Must be able and willing to travel & hold a valid Canadian Passport; role includes local and international travel
