We offer a flexible work environment and support a sustainable life/work balance.General Purpose of this Position:Reporting to the Project Executive, and working with the Lead Project Controller, the Cost Controller is responsible for accurate reporting and review of accruals, forecasts and project status as well as providing support for early intervention and notification of variances to project baseline schedule and spend while supporting the integration of project control measures including cost control, scheduling, progressing and change management.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Health and Safety

  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation.
  • Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department.
General Responsibilities
  • Open and setup projects, monitor, control and report their performance through the whole project life cycle according to the company procedures and general project control practices.
  • Develop WBS and project cost coding structures.
  • Setup and manage progress measurements for all project activities throughout the project cycle.
  • Assist with analyzing and forecasting project costs; project planning as well as developing, preparing, collecting, and analyzing schedule and cost data to support project management and decision making.
  • Utilize project management systems and tools to update and manage project budgets, commitments, expenditures, cashflows and forecasts.
  • Provide timely and accurate cost report updates weekly and monthly on project cost status and cost deviations and recommend remedial actions.
  • Provide input to client reporting requirements.
  • Prepare forward-looking project and business cash flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate change management process on the project.
  • Interface with other members of the team to maintain an integrated schedule.
  • Collaborate with finance to initiate, review and issue client invoices.
  • Special assignments, ad hoc reports and other related duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in MS office suite software, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to details.
  • Solid report writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Efficient multitasking abilities.
Education and Experience:
  • College or University degree in Finance, Construction Management or a related field would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Primavera P6.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques (i.e., critical path method, progress measurement and earned value technique) and experience in cost monitoring, analyzing, and reporting.
  • Project controls experience in mining or similar underground construction projects with a sound knowledge of contract principles.
Travel Requirements:
  • This position has the requirement for occasional travel to our project sites and offices.
  • Travel period may range from one day to several days.
