Job Description

requires Supply School Bus MonitorsParry Sound & Area, Burks Falls, Sundridge, South River & AreasLocation: Parry Sound & Area, Burks Falls, Sundridge, South River & AreasA School Bus Monitor is assigned to a transportation route because of a particular student who requires assistance for either medical, physical or behavioural reasons or because of a more general need for an additional adult presence on that route.Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support students while in transit who have medical or special education needs
  • Assist the driver in maintaining order on the Special Education school bus
  • Remind students of bus safety rules
  • Maintain a positive and calm attitude while on the job
  • Assist students on and off the bus, as needed
  • Be aware of Accident/Emergency procedures to assist the driver in case of an emergency
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the NPSSTS Operations Manager
