Join us to continue the development of our leading-edge digital mapping and data services.Position DescriptionWe need an enthusiastic geomatics professional for the role of Geomatics CAD Technician. This position is suited for a recent graduate or career individual who enjoys computer aided design (CAD) work and collaborating with a team of engaged colleagues. Reporting to the GIS Supervisor, the Geomatics CAD Technician will specialize in the creation of detailed CAD models using software such as MicroStation Connect, Terrasolid and other in-house custom tools. These CAD Models support our clients in various business sectors, including Transportation, Environmental, Geotech, Forestry and Electrical Power sectors.Responsibilities

  • Using Bentley MicroStation/Powerview, Terrasolid, in-house custom tools, and various data types (lidar, ortho, etc.) to assist with mapping production:
o 3D planimetry capture following feature specifications; breakline extraction; lidar processing (ex.: ground and default editing, noise removal)
  • Communication with the GIS Mapping team, other technical colleagues and PMs to ensure that product requirements are understood and that project commitments are met consistently, on schedule
  • Awareness of SOPs and directives to ensure compliance with company processes and policies
  • Participate in various ongoing research and development, as requested.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Job Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in geospatial and remote sensing data processing
  • Graduation from a related post secondary program with a minimum of one year of related work experience or equivalent period of relevant work experience. Courses completed in remote sensing are an asset
  • High working proficiency in a Windows environment
  • Familiar with key binding to aid with computer usage efficiency
  • Organized, methodical, focused work ethic with keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • A professional, thoughtful communicator.
  • Self-starter – able to work alone or in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision
  • Effective time management skills to plan and maintain project schedules.
  • Experience with specialized software, such as MicroStation, Terrasolid, ACAD Civil3D and ESRI ArcGIS are considered assets
