Job Description

Park Appearance Team MemberDepartment: OperationsReports to: Park Appearance SupervisorGeneral Description:Park Appearance Team Members are responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness of the park’s outdoor facilities are maintained to a level that amazes our guest. This includes stairways, walkways and pathways. During the winter season, the Park Appearance team in conjunction with the rest of the Facilities and Grounds team, is responsible for snow removal and de-icing of the park grounds.As an active member of this team, this position is responsible for keeping safety as a top priority in all daily tasks.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain outside grounds - sweep and clean gutters,
  • Maintain sprinkling systems,
  • Clean and maintain stairs and wooden walkways on an ongoing basis,
  • Clears all pathways of leaves or snow and ice daily,
  • Power wash surfaces on a set schedule,
  • Perform warehouse runs using company vehicles,
  • Support with snow removal in the winter months,
  • Ensure efficient execution of projects, as required,
  • Assist with requests from Prospect Point and Stanley Park Pavilion,
  • Assist with seasonal light installation and décor,
  • Support and follow the “Capilano Standards” for inventory and waste management,
  • Be alert to hazards and immediately report hazards, defective equipment or concerns,
  • Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is worn for each job,
  • Knows and follows the health and safety requirements and regulations of Capilano,
  • Encourage fellow TMs to follow the health and safety requirementsamp; regulations.
Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of guest service experience, general labour or related experience,
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of team members,
  • Strong guest service orientation,
  • First Aid level 1 or higher, a strong asset.
Working Conditions:
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business,
  • Able to be on walking around and standing for extended periods of time,
  • Willing and able to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, rain and winter conditions,
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 100lbs,
  • Occasionally required to lift and climb a ladder.
