Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.The Quality Centre of Excellence (QCoE) is a multi-site team, committed to providing professional, structured automated testing that embraces innovative tools and techniques to enhance the quality of our deliverables and align with our customer expectations. As a member of the QCoE, the DevOps Specialist will provide automated testing services and quality assurance activities throughout the systems development life cycle for large, complex or high risk software development and agile projects. This role is focused on Web and Mobile application delivery in an Agile team, and requires an experienced candidate who can design and develop both Manual and Automated testing for functional and regression tests.What you will do:

  • Work with the QA and Development teams to design and implement effective quality manual and automation strategies
  • Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
  • Provide clear goals for all areas of a project and develop steps to oversee their timely execution
  • Working as part of cross-functional agile teams to deliver product features
  • Champion and advocate automation and quality within the Agile team
  • Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects
  • Work directly with the DevOps team and Senior DevOps manager to test system integrity
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
  • Contribute to agile testing practices and processes
  • Creation and maintenance of repeatable test ware including:
  • Regression models and automation scripts
  • Training documentation
  • Track QA progress and provide analysis & metrics on the QA Development effort
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team Log and track detailed product defects
  • Provide timely and effective communication to management, relating to quality, resource and project issues & concerns
  • Deliver key quality control documents and activities required in the agile team for web and mobile applications
what you need to Succeed:
  • + 5 years of relevant work experience, including development and/or quality automation experience & web and/or mobile testing
  • +5 years of experience in Agile test automation frameworks and approaches
  • +4 years experience with Selenium, Cucumber/Gherkin, JUnit, JMeter, Appium, ReadyAPI, HP UFT/QTP, HP ALM, qTest, Mobile Center (or equivalent)
  • +4 Years programming experience in Java, Ruby, C#, Python or other
  • +3 Years experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CDD/Jenkins, Pipelines etc.
  • +5 years experience with automating tests using Java or other programming languages
  • +4 years experience of web sites, iOS & Android mobile applications testing and cloud based products
  • +3 years of experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and delivery concepts, specifically continuous testing
  • +5 years experience in the design and development of code to automate functional and regression tests
  • +4 years experience with test automation (Cucumber, Selenium, Appium) framework development and usage
  • Led QA activities and deliverables on medium to large-sized projects
  • Understanding of SQA procedures, policies and principles
  • CSTE certification (or equivalent) is an asset
  • API technologies and automation (ReadyAPI, RestAssured)
  • Internet technologies, web services, SOAP, XSL/XSLT, API
  • Git, Bitbucket, Scrum, Jira, CA Service Virtualization or other agile tools
  • Knowledge of TDD, ATDD and/or BDD
Notes/Unique Requirements:
  • Some additional hours may be required outside of normal schedule during peak period
  • Occasional travel may be required

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
