The Lifesaving Society Ontario is a full-service provider of programs, products and services designed to prevent drowning. We save lives and prevent water-related injury through our training programs, Water Smart® public education, drowning prevention research, aquatic safety management and lifesaving sport.Each year, more than 1,000,000 Canadians participate in the Society’s swimming, lifesaving, lifeguarding and leadership programs.RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provide courteous and prompt telephone and visitor reception customer service:· Direct inquiries to appropriate departments/staff to service customers· Walk in orders – Pick up of orders and place an order.· Process payments (cash, debit, credit card, cheque/money order).· Cover reception 9-5pm daily2. Provide support for Operations activities, including:· Open and close the front doors of the facility· Maintain petty cash – Opening, closing and balancing each day· Maintain/change general voicemail greeting· Maintain general voicemail box and return or forward calls as necessary· Maintain security controls for contractors on site· Shipping of awards3. Work in a team environment consistent with the Lifesaving Society culture of providing excellent products and services to customers.4. Provide courteous and prompt customer service to all members and public.5. Actively participate in maintaining a safe working environment.· Use common sense and think “safety in the execution of job responsibilities· Maintain a hazard-free personal workspace· Wear protective clothing and equipment where applicable.· Report safety concerns and workplace injuries to the Health and Safety Committee immediately.6. Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS: Possession of the following knowledge, skills and experience will enable the selected applicant to perform the major job functions successfully. All requirements below are essential unless otherwise indicated as an ‘asset’.· Completion of secondary school or college/university program. (Asset)· Minimum 1 year experience in an administrative or receptionist role.· Experience responding to client inquiries (phone, email, in-person).· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).· Knowledge of general office procedures.· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.· Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.· Ability to work cooperatively with team members.· Knowledge of Lifesaving Society training programs (Asset)The Lifesaving Society is an equal opportunity employer.
