Job Description

What Does a Human Resources Coordinator doThe main role of Human Resources is to manage the employee life cycle, build and promote Grimco culture, and ensure all employment practices are compliant and aligned with overall organizational strategies. This role supports business operations in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia with a mix of salary and hourly employees in a wholesale distribution environment. The duties and responsibilities of this position require not only a passion for people, but also attention to detail and well-developed organizational and multi-tasking skills.This role is located at Grimco Toronto Corporate and scheduled from 8:30AM - 5:00PM EST.Responsibilities:General HR support for all internal and external HR related inquiries or requestsEnsure the legal compliance of all HR process and activities and assume a lead role on change initiatives and best practice applicationsPromote and assist in building a positive, diverse, and inclusive company cultureResponsible for Full Cycle Payroll; biweekly processing, year end tax filings via ADP WFN and other interim and year end audit requestsMaintain electronic employee files in ADP WFN by entering new hires, employee changes, terminations etc. to ensure employee records are accurate and up to dateCreate and update various documents such as company policies, employee letters such as confirmation of employment, transfer offers, termination letters etc.Oversee health and safety program, ensures compliance for all locations and participates in JHSC initiativesManagement of all workers compensation board accounts, reporting wcb premiums, workplace injuries, return to work and other non-occupational disability leaves of absences and claimsResponsible for benefit enrollment, terminations, and updating benefit coverage based on employment and life changesAssist with full-cycle recruitment process; screen resumes, phone interviews, manager interview scheduling, issue employment offers and background screeningsOversee talent management programs; release annual performance reviews in ADP, assist managers with setting development goals and plans, succession planning, creating performance improvement plans and other corrective action initiatives as neededNew Hire Onboarding, send welcome emails and new hire paperwork, enter new employees into SharePoint for IT account creation, coordinate with managers to prepare training plans and workstations, facilitate Grimco Orientation trainingManage employee LMS, HRDownloads, and ensure all employees complete required onboarding training as per legislative requirements within probation periodProvide ADP training to supervisors/managers for time & attendance and reporting featuresManage employee travel & expense system, SAP Concur, train all new expense and travel users, and book travel for new traineesLiaison with legal counsel to manage and resolve all employment related claims and get guidance on legal matters as neededWork closely with brokers to manage corporate and auto liability insurance policies, main internal point of contact for all claims and insurance requestsOther duties as assignedRequirements:2+ Years Previous Human Resources experience in a multi-location organization with a fast-paced environment.Experience using ADP or other HRIS and payroll systems a mustCompleted Post Secondary degree or equivalent from an accredited college/university.Knowledge of relevant employment legislation such as employment standards, human rights, workers compensation, accessibility etc. for multiple Canadian provinces.Computer literate – Strong Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Online Job Posting SitesConfidence and positive attitude are a MUST! Goal-oriented and competitive in sales/marketing activities.Superior interpersonal skills – able to communicate effectively at all levels.Ability to work hard and smart – never satisfied with the status quo.Ability to take direction and to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and true commitment to customers.Strong Preference For:Bachelor's Degree with Major/Concentration in an area of Human Resources Management.ADP WorkforceNow experience.Experience supporting business operations in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.CHRP and JHSC designations a plus!Advanced/fluent skill levels in French are always a plus!New to the Sign Industry What is Training Like3 weeks of focused training time (Toronto Corporate).Majority of time training is focused on: products, computer systems, phones/customers, sales/service, purchasing, logistics, web store, marketing, safety, accounting, human resources, and reports.Split between break-out session and hands-on learning environment.Rotation within departments for a diverse look at how employees approach tasks and achieve goals.Full-time salary includes training period.Travel accommodations and expenses provided per Grimco Canada Travel & Expense Policy.
