Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to perform Project Coordination for HVAC Mechanical Construction Projects with enthusiasm and drive, who is highly organized and can ensure the achievement of the company’s quality standards, economic objectives, and timely completion of projects.As Project Coordinator, the candidate will analyze documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and takeoff of labour and material in preparation for pricing project change orders. In addition, the candidate will assist project management in the installation and commissioning of ICI mechanical projects with the goal of progressing toward becoming a Project Manager. This position is in person, and the office is in North York. Must already be located in the GTA.Salary package plus benefits.Responsibilities and Requirements of the candidate:

  • Analyze documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and takeoff of labour and material in preparation for pricing project change orders.
  • Assist with pricing projects on which the Company is bidding.
  • Develop a preliminary project construction schedule (using MS Projects or Primavera) as a basis for the pricing of time-related activities utilizing input from subcontractors and staff.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update construction budgets throughout the project.
  • Ability to make reasonable and clear decisions while solving issues relating to engineering, scheduling, and client relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to contract specifications by policies and procedures of the company.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of close-out documents for projects as required to achieve timely substantial completion and handover.
Qualifications of the candidate:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree, preferably from a Canadian University.
  • 2 years of experience in the ICI construction industry.
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to interpret and analyze contract documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills and working knowledge of scheduling, and various software programs are critical.
  • Must be able to travel to work sites.
