Job Description

Licata Law Professional Corporation is a small boutique in North York law firm focused on Real Estate Law. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Real Law Clerk with a minimum of 2 years real estate experience, to join our team.Real Estate Law Clerk - Responsibilities:- Completion of residential real estate transactions (purchase, sale, refinance, private mortgages) from start to finish with minimal supervision;- Conduct title and writ searches, prepare requisitions, charges, deeds, and discharges, order title insurance;- Communicate with clients, brokers, lenders, and other law offices in order to complete closings;- Communicate with lenders to request for funds and deal with issues with funding;- Prepare signing documents;- Prepare client and lender reports;- Ability to work independently on all aspects of a real estate transaction (including purchase, sale and financing). This will include reviewing title and off title searches, preparing requisitions, communicating with lenders and other law firms, utilizing statements of adjustments, drafting all closing documentation necessary for a successful closing and reporting to clients and lenders after closing;- Assisting solicitor in corporate matters, such as incorporations, minute book organization, and transactional business matters;- Administrative tasks as required.Qualifications

  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential and non-routine information
  • Self-starter with excellent anticipation skills; problem solving; follow up
  • Comfortable working with people at all organizational levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, and prioritize and multi- task in a deadline driven environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook, Teraview, Unity/Conveyancer an asset.
  • Legal, Real Estate or Finance Industry experience is an asset
