We encourage all qualified persons who share our values and want to contribute to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace to apply.The incumbent will work in collaboration with the Senior Manager - Risk Reduction and Resilience and would be a proven leader and effective communicator, with an ability to manage complex issues with innovation and progressive thinking.In this role you will:

• Support the confirmation of Alberta/Northwest Territories objectives within operational plans, building in relationship with Indigenous communities including service providers and governance structures.
• Contribute to the confirmation of project scope, goals, and deliverables, that support the evolution of department programming in support of Indigenous communities
• Support design of program activities to meet intended outcomes
• When required, manage the planning, budget management, and reporting requirements for projects including existing / new external funded projects.
• Ensure cultural safety guides the approach to our work and the design of programs
• Attend appropriate coordination and planning tables and meetings
• Develop and/or maintain strong working relationships with community partners, including leadership, members, and service organizations
• Manage and support implementation, including monitoring and reporting requirements, of Canadian Red Cross activities as per plans.
• When required, plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and in conjunction with agreed-upon deliverables.
• Monitor scope changes and impacts, assess options
• Work with National CSE teams to ensure the services reflect adherence to CSE strategy and standards as well as the guiding principles of the Indigenous Peoples Framework
• Report findings, progress, issues and risks and any other important project information to Leadership.

What we are looking for:

• The ideal candidate has lived and/or has professional experience with First Nations, Inuit and/or Métis Nations or communities.
• Active in broader Indigenous networks and has an enduring commitment to sharing and advancing knowledge derived through Indigenous knowledge systems including balancing Western and Indigenous world views.
• The official languages recognized within the Canadian Red Cross are English and French; however demonstrated skills and ability to communicate in one or multiple Indigenous language(s) or ability to communicate and adapt within Indigenous protocols is highly desirable.
• The minimum qualifications for this job are a university degree, and 5 years of directly related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience on community wellness programs that address the unique needs of distinct populations including Indigenous youth.
• Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural issues, specifically traditional Indigenous beliefs, and practices.
• Familiarity in monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Experience in analyzing and synthesizing data to use it for reports.
• Strong facilitator including virtual modalities.
• Team leadership strength and agility.
• Flexibility and ability to work in an ambiguous fluid work environment.

Working conditions:

• Most of the work will be performed in a remote home office-based environment.
• Potential for responding to disaster areas, as well as difficult and unstable conditions (environmental, physical, social, etc.) and uncomfortable conditions (noise, odors, smoke, humidity, vulnerable beneficiaries). These stressful rapidly changing environments with limited information to make decisions have the potential to affect the physical and psychological state of the responders on site.
• If working in a response site, health and safety considerations will be outlined prior to the assignment.
• Ability to be on-call when scheduled, respond during non-traditional hours (i.e., late nights or weekends) and long hours of work in a demanding context.
• Overnight travel within the Province/Territory and Canada will be required.
