We work closely with our customers to provide innovative and effective design solutions for their operation, while building strong relationships as well as quality productsThe OpportunityThe Human Resources Generalist is responsible for day-to-day human resources activities and has a broad knowledge of human resources functions such as recruitment, training and development and compensation. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the development of recruitment strategies, the review and implementation of policies/procedures, and providing exceptional service to our employee base.This is a 1-year term position, with the likely possibility of it becoming a permanent position upon completion of the term.The TeamThis position works closely and in collaboration with all areas of the business within the Oak Bluff and Winnipeg groups. They will report directly to the Human Resource Business Partner.Responsibilities

  • Partner with the HR and AGI leadership team to understand and execute AGI’s human resource strategy and support with a wide variety of activities.
  • Provide a level of customer service that emphasizes accessibility, integrity, trustworthiness, confidentiality, respect, and dignity as well as ensures fair and equal treatment of all employees.
  • Facilitate and administer new hire onboarding and orientation for team members
  • Coordinate and facilitate HR training on policies, procedures and programs offered within AGI
  • AGI leaders with performance management conversations and recommendations
  • Supporting employee disability leaves and follow ups, partnering with our AGI benefit provider to ensure that all documentations and updates are completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and monitor the annual performance review process with the AGI leadership group
  • Assist with HR policy creation, review, and revisions
  • Partner with AGI leaders regarding talent acquisition, assisting with role descriptions, job postings and candidate screening
  • Provide back up for Oak Bluff payroll approvals and processing
  • Provide support to employees regarding their benefits, time-off requests, and compensation
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and respectful workplace
  • Conduct employee exit interviews and flag any concerns accordingly
  • Assist in the gathering and analysis of HR data to determine metrics including but not limited to time to hire and turnover rates
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 3+ years related Human Resources experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • HR Certificate or diploma preferred
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of general human resources policies, procedures, and employment standards
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition and coordination
  • Knowledge and understanding of conflict management, and the ability to work within a diverse team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations
  • Proficient computer skills, including Windows, Word and Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working within an ATS and/or HRIS would be considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and results
  • Ability and willingness to learn
