Job Description

Fort Garry Industries has an opening for a Full-Time Labourer working out of our Oak Bluff branch.This position is responsible for the safe operation of various machinery in a safe and efficient manner to remanufacture brake shoes to FGI standards for sale*Must have reliable transportation to this location**Must be able to work 7:00am - 4:00om Monday to Thursday and 7:00am - 1:30om on Fridays*What we offer:

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with other production operational functions when required
  • Adhering to all safety rules
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop.
  • Variety of work could involve sorting shoe cores up and following the process to the end result of packaging.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Functionally literate and capable of recognizing parts numbers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Effective communication with a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Forklift experience an asset.
Work Conditions and physical demands:
  • Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts more than 30 lbs.
  • Frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Loud environment
  • Change in temperature based on season
Equipment:
  • CSA approved safety toed shoes required from the first day of this job.
  • Use of different machinery with proper training.
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be worn when required and necessary.
