Job Description

Our team is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join a growing professional services firm. This leadership role offers the opportunity to manage a broad mix of tax compliance and planning engagements for private clients, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the success of a collaborative, people-first environment.About the RoleThis position reports into the tax leadership group and is responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of domestic tax engagements. The role will involve planning and reviewing personal, corporate, and trust tax filings, advising clients on various tax matters, and supporting junior team members in their development. You will also occasionally collaborate on cross-border issues with the broader tax team.What You’ll Do

  • Lead Canadian tax planning and compliance for individuals, privately held corporations, and estates
  • Manage tax-related deliverables across multiple engagements, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Conduct research on technical tax issues and communicate recommendations to internal leaders and clients
  • Support organizational goals by mentoring and coaching junior team members
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on files that require U.S. tax input
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships through clear communication and responsive service
  • Participate in continuous process improvement and knowledge-sharing within the team
What You Bring
  • CPA designation and completion of relevant Canadian tax specialization (e.g., In-Depth Tax Course)
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a strong focus on Canadian tax
  • Expertise in corporate, personal, and trust tax filings, with experience in estate planning and reorganizations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership qualities with a focus on team development
  • Familiarity with professional tax software and research platforms (experience with U.S. tax is an asset)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
