Job Description

Located in sunny, Okanagan Falls, Unit Electrical Engineering (UEE) is a leading manufacturer of custom electrical solutions for mining, oil & gas, industrial, commercial, transportation and renewable energy applications worldwide.We are looking for a reliable, safety oriented, General Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining production and quality by performing basic repairs and preventative maintenance of machinery, equipment, facility operations and tools.Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Millwright or Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
  • Interprovincial Red-Seal Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) is preferred.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance, precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
  • Fabrication, machining and electrical experience.
  • Self motivated, with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Adhere to our core values of R*espect, Integrity, Commitment and Health & S*afety.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe & responsible manner.
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn in-house system.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Responsibilities
  • Ensures operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Responds to equipment/machine breakdowns in a timely manner maintaining close communications with the production operations department.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Maintenance and repairs of the grounds and facility infrastructure.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing Plant.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.
