Job Description

ENGIE is looking for motivated students working towards a career in Business Development who can assist in further developing professional skills, specifically, in the field of renewable energy. It will provide the successful candidate with exposure to the electricity industry and experience with technical and commercial aspects of renewable energy project development.This position is responsible for supporting ENGIE North America’s Business Development team in the development of large scale renewable energy projects in Canada. ENGIE’s Business Development group is responsible for identifying, screening, developing and evaluating business development projects in order to implement ENGIE’s growth strategy. This may include Greenfield and Brownfield project development, and asset/project acquisitions and/or divestitures.The internship work term will be from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023, full-time work schedule working 40 hours per week.What you’ll do:

  • Performing research and industry analysis
  • Assist the project team with project development activities for renewable energy projects
  • Review Request for Proposal (“RFP”) documents for renewable energy projects
  • Assist in the preparation of bid packages in response to RFPs
  • Carry out other duties as assigned
What you bring:
  • Completed 2-3 years of a post-secondary degree (preferably in an engineering or related discipline)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Technical skills and ability to learn and adapt
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient with MS Excel and able to learn other software programs as required
  • Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams
  • Ability to work from home if required (including sufficient quality internet service)
