The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Commander of Central Region is seeking a qualified individual to provide financial, clerical and administrative services to the Regional Headquarters.About Us:The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North Americas largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.Within its boundaries of approximately 29,790 square kilometers, which encompass 24,510 square kilometers of land and 5,280 square kilometers of water, Central Region provides professional policing services through 13 community detachments. Central Region extends from the District of Muskoka in the north to Lake Ontario in the south; from Dufferin County in the west to Northumberland County in the east. Central Region includes 1,874 kilometers of Kings Highway, as well as 22,188 kilometers of secondary roads.Central Region is responsible to provide policing services to a population of approximately 523,000 people; however, the population fluctuates and swells throughout the year as Central Region is a vacation destination for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
