We are an organization where individuals’ contributions are valued and there are many opportunities for personal growth and development.Position SummaryThe Unit Worker provides services by performing non-professional and non-nursing tasks while maintaining good public relations with patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Duties include patient transfer, ensuring equipment and supply availability, housekeeping duties between cases and end of day cleaning in OR, RR, DS, and SPA settings. Other duties include assisting with set up, cleaning and making beds/stretchers, and other related tasks as assigned.Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 required.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Capable of working independently according to policies and procedures and job description.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to set priorities & accomplish work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain disciplined level of confidentiality.
  • Knowledge/experience of housekeeping standards relating to OR/DS/RR/CSPA an asset.
  • Must demonstrate excellent attendance in previous jobs and a commitment to OSMH - Mandatory
  • Satisfactory work performance and attendance record Mandatory
  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an excellent attendance record and a proven commitment to professional development, as well as to the Mission of the Hospital.
  • Physical demands include the ability to lift, push and pull up to 60lbs, patient transfer, bending, stooping, reaching, and prolonged standing and walking - Mandatory
