Job Description

The employee #39;s role enables them to work at a GM facility, or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.The Role:Collaborating with the Field Performance Manager, the Data Scientist will assist the Brand Quality Team within the Customer Careamp; Aftersales organization. You will solve complex problems by developing and implementing robust analytical and data solutions to improve product quality, customer satisfaction, and warranty performance!This outstanding cross-functional role provides an opportunity to experience interfacing with global teams, using your strong analytical and machine learning skills, identify key trends to develop and launch corporate level solutions!A strong analytic, independent and data driven skillset is required for this position. Additionally, the chosen candidate will have the opportunity to interact with various departments and present to senior leadership.Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform data analysis on product conditions
  • Identify trends, emerging issues, and opportunities through data mining
  • Build system tools to streamline/automate reporting, processes, and analysis
  • Develop and implement management dashboards; applications as needed
  • Support the Brand Quality team with reporting, analytics, and process improvement initiatives to help facilitate operational excellence within Customer Careamp; Aftersales
  • Develop and maintain project documentation
  • Actively support day-to-day business operations and projects as assigned
Additional Job DescriptionRequired Qualifications:
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor #39;s degree (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students) or Master #39;s degree in one of the following areas: Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering
  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 8-month term starting May 2024
  • A highly developed analytical skill set is required in order to contribute in the investigations and business decisions using a data first approach
  • Strong programing knowledge with preference in Python and SQL
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across various departments
  • Strong ability to self-learn and develop new skills
What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Fundamental digital literacy including advanced knowledge of Microsoft products with emphasis on Excel, Access, and Power BI
  • Completed courses in statistics and/or machine learning
  • Database/system skills (Hadoop, Databricks, Python, and Oracle)
