This team promotes risk-informed decision-making throughout EDC by championing effective policies, providing sound risk governance and articulating clear risk appetite. RS&G also includes the Delegation of Authority (DOA) unit, through which RS&G manages corporate-wide authorities for approving credit commitments.Reporting to the Director, Risk Strategy & Governance, the Associate will focus on supporting the Policy governance and Senior Management Committee (SMC) governance functions within RS&G. This includes championing key Policy and SMC governance principles through advisory support, maintaining various governance documentation repositories and supporting initiatives that advance EDC’s ERM maturity. In particular, the role includes managing an active advisory support request mailbox, advancing key Policy and SMC governance processes, performing quality assurance on corporate Policies and SMC Term of Reference and managing RS&G’s SharePoint site. Internal partners for this role include EDC’s Policy Leads and Senior Management Committee Secretariats and so this is an excellent opportunity to build a diverse network throughout the corporation.Discipline SummaryThe Associate requires excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to effectively engage with internal partners, subject matter experts and decision makers. The ability to deliver high-quality service in a timely manner and to prioritize work are essential competencies in this role. The Associate understands, interprets and champions policy and SMC management Policy instruments to help EDC manage overall enterprise risks. The incumbent is detail-oriented, resourceful, organized, a self-starter and possesses sound professional judgement.Key Responsibilities

  • Provides advisory services in respect of Policy governance and SMC governance to internal partners in an accurate, timely and professional manner;
  • Maintains and manages a schedule for Policy reviews, including initiating the Policy review process with applicable stakeholders and supporting the process through to its successful completion;
  • Tracks the completion of SMC governance requirements and follows for outstanding items to ensure committee effectiveness at EDC is optimized;
  • Performs Quality Assurance activities on Policies as well as SMC governing documents;
  • Maintains the RS&G SharePoint site, including ensuring various governance documents are current and accessible to all applicable stakeholders;
  • Contributes to special projects RS&G undertakes as needed;
  • Provides support as needed to other areas of the greater RS&G team, flexing in on support for risk appetite and strategy work as well as DOA.
Screening Criteria
  • Completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field, or an equivalent amount of professional training and experience
  • 0-2 years experience in risk management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly SharePoint
Assets
  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerBI
  • Experience working in the financial services sector and/or financial crown corporation environment;
  • Experience working in a group responsible for Policies or Policy instruments, implementing them, and/or assuring their compliance across stakeholder groups.
Salary Range
  • $54,500 - $81,800, plus performance-based incentive
Location
