Job Description

One permanent part time position is available - ***Must be bilingual English and French***Required Availability: Saturday 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm - in office only.Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Clinical Manager the Receptionist is the first point of contact welcoming clients and visitors to Family Services a la famille Ottawa. The Receptionist is required to greet all clients and visitors and direct them to the appropriate staff person. In addition, the Receptionist will:

  • Receive all incoming telephones calls; address general inquiries and redirect where appropriate.
  • Ensure reception area, including supplies, are maintained in a neat and presentable fashion and monitor visitors who are present in the waiting room.
  • Maintain intake availability of counsellors and assign cases to available intakes.
  • Liaise with other community agencies/ professionals to develop and maintain referral sources
  • Provide clerical/administrative support as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsThe ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral, written and verbal communication skills in English & Frenchas well as:
  • A secondary school diploma along with a minimum of two years providing reception or clerical support in a computerized office environment or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and support clients in an empathetic, courteous and tactful manner.
  • Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and to respond to conflicting demands while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong administration and computer skills including experience with Office 365
  • Experience working in the social services and non-profit sector is preferable.
