The company has a focus on sustainability and community engagement and strives to continually innovate and grow.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Store Associate / Barista will work as an integral part of our Rideau XMarket Team to perform general operations and merchandising duties as required. This position will report to the Store Manager and work very closely with our customer experience team. The primary goal of this role is to ensure fluid operations of the store while delivering an all-around excellent experience. The Barista will be responsible for, but not limited to:- Selling and serving products to customers in a courteous and friendly manner- Participating in all sales promotions effectively and efficiently- Safely handling all hot and cold drinks during preparation- Verbally receiving and calling back customer orders in a friendly manner- Reporting all customer complaints to the manager on duty- Responding proactively to prevent customer services situations- Accurately rings sales orders into the cash register and counting back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner, following all safe cash handling procedures- Answering telephones in a courteous and friendly manner including but not limited to giving a store greeting, directions to store location, receiving and filling customer orders- Answering customer questions regarding products, services, or environment in a courteous and friendly manner- Packaging all retail and beverage customer orders according to company guidelines- Selling and serving baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers- Maintaining efficient, friendly service standards- Restocking shelves when necessary- Routine cleaning of the bar area, floor, windows, grinders, trash, etc.- Following brand guidelines in the environment and taking ownership of store cleanliness- Assisting in the distribution of weekly shipments- Reporting potential safety hazards to the manager on duty- Reporting all employee accidents to the manager on duty- Informing the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies- Perpetuating company philosophy and culture- Maintaining a high level of motivation to ensure quality and consistent products- Ensuring that all customers are educated on our products and services- Maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards- Following all company drink recipes and procedures- Passing monthly re-certifications in a timely manner- Assisting in maintaining a clean, well-merchandised store- Assisting in following visual presentation plans and standardsQUALIFICATIONS- Must be able to speak French - Requirement- Experience working in a retail environment - Requirement- Experience working in the food/beverage industry is an asset- 1 year of experience using manual or volumetric espresso machines- Proficiency in dialing in coffees for batch brew and espresso- Ability to talk about all kinds of coffee including where it is from and how it tastes- Experience working in the food/beverage industry is an asset- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Strong interpersonal skills that translate well into maintaining healthy relationships with vendors, customers, staff, and partners- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and requests from customers in a fast-paced environment- Comfortable initiating conversations and engaging with customers- Comfortable being on feet for long periods of time- Team Player – must work well with employees and consultants in all levels of the organization, and work as a team to accomplish large projects and day-to-day tasks- A knack for problem-solvingACCESSIBILITYPlantX is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
