Job Description

Project ManagerLocation: Ottawa, ON

  • Candidate must have 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Candidate must have or be eligible to obtain a Federal Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
Roles and Deliverables include:
  • Plans, executes, and delivers all projects on time, on budget, and within scope in accordance with business priorities.
  • Tracks and reports project status.
  • Manages tasks to ensure quality, mitigate issues and risks.
Must Haves:
  • 12+ years experience within the IT field, of which seven (7) years have been as a Project Manager managing matrixed multi-disciplinary IT teams of at least seven (7) members. The duration of the projects must be a minimum of one (1) year. The dollar value of each of the assigned client projects in which the experience was gained must be greater than $2 million (CDN)
  • 7+ years of experience in the last 12 years leading the project management activities for the development and deployment of IT solutions which leverages multiple infrastructure components (e.g. servers, network, desktops) and/or platforms (e.g. Distributed, Mainframe, Linux/Solaris)
  • 7+ years experience in the last 12 years in tracking IT project risks, issues, and change requests.
  • 7+ years experience in the last 12 years in preparing and presenting business cases, reports, briefing notes, and/or PowerPoint presentations to senior management.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the last 12 years leading projects using iterative development methodologies, such as Agile and RUP in order to deliver work packages in a phased approach.
  • Experience working at a Project Manager (Level 2 or higher) or equivalent level within a Government of Canada Department, Agency or Cjobn Corporation
  • PMP certification
  • AGILE training and/or certification(s)
  • Project management experience in the development and deployment of large and complex IT solutions
  • Experience using iterative development methodologies, such as Agile, RUP
  • Experience in preparing and presenting business cases, reports, briefing notes, and/or PowerPoint presentations to senior management.
