Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:The Program Administrator is responsible for the efficient administrative operation of the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management Program (BPAPM). The Program Administrator reports to the College Administrator of the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs and works closely with the BPAPM Program Director providing support and advice. The BPAPM Program is resident in the Arthur Kroeger College within the Faculty of Public Affairs (FPA).Qualifications:The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Sound judgment to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external contacts
  • Extensive knowledge of both University and general administrative procedures in order to act as an important source of information to students and faculty members.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements of the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management program.
  • The ability to display maturity when working under pressure, flexibility, and resourcefulness when dealing with competing work priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The capability of relating successfully to all members of the University community (staff, faculty, and students) and responding to queries in a professional manner
  • The ability to work successfully with guidance from the Program Director and the College Administrator.
  • Personal initiative and independent problem-solving are essential.
  • Tact, reliability, sensitivity to various cultural profiles and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
Education and Experience:The above is normally acquired through:
  • The completion of a three year university degree.
  • Three to four years experience in a university setting with increasing responsibility.
  • At least one year of the three to four years experience must be academic program experience.
