Ready to make an impactFullscript is looking for a talented and motivated Contracts Specialist to join our legal team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, risk management strategies and have a thorough understanding of contract principles and applicable legislation. The role will report to our Ottawa, Ontario, Canada office.What youll be doing

    • Reviewing and negotiating vendor and other third-party agreements, identifying and responding to areas of risk, and ensuring risk to Fullscript is managed and minimized;;
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand various contract provisions;
    • Reviewing, negotiating and managing NDAs;
    • Reviewing and negotiating master supplier agreements;
    • Creating and reviewing marketing agreements, including sponsorship agreements and event agreements;
    • Creating new contracts using template agreements;
    • Updating template agreements;
    • Ensuring that company internal processes and policies are followed;
    • Working closely with company stakeholders and the Manager, Legal Services to achieve optimal outcomes;
    • General administrative tasks, such as reviewing and managing contracts for compliance and renewals, managing the signature process, and handling the electronic filing;
    • Improving and managing contracts database; and
    • Other tasks as assigned.
What you bring to the table
    • Minimum 5 years’ contracts management experience working in a legal division of a commercial company or law firm with a focus on contracts;
    • Legal education (law clerk, paralegal, contracts management) or significant, applicable on-the-job training and experience;
    • Experience working on contracts in both Canada and the US;
    • Strong ability to draft appropriate contracts language within the required context;
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization;
    • Comfortable with direct negotiations with suppliers and third-party vendors;
    • Well-organized and very detail-oriented with strong time-management skills;
    • Comfortable prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment;
    • Ability to complete work independently while also working as part of a team;
    • Solid analytical and research skills;
    • Strategic and creative thinker on negotiation strategies;
    • Proactive with a thoughtful and responsible approach to tasks;
    • Some knowledge of privacy legislation and experience responding to privacy issues in the US and Canada would be an asset;
    • Experience in a health-focused environment is a bonus.
