Job Overview:Lot Associates are responsible for providing excellent customer service. They are the first and last point of contact with customers. Their primary responsibilities are to load orders into Customer vehicles and maintain shopping carts outside the store. Lot associates spend the majority of their time outdoors working in all types of weather conditions.Major Tasks and Responsibilities:Approaching customers to determine if they need help loading product into vehiclesEnsuring the parking lot and entrances are maintained and welcoming to customers, including maintaining shopping carts outside the storeActing as a spotter for equipment operators and ensuring that large orders are transported safely through the store and to customer’s vehiclesProviding excellent customer serviceEnsuring that all safety precautions are taken when loading a vehicleEnsuring that the exits/loading areas are not blocked or clutteredSupport work colleagues when neededSome Heavy lifting required; bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods of time; comfortable with laddersPick, organize and verify orders for delivery or pick-upUtilize computer terminals and/or Home Depot portable phone to check inventory, look-up orders and notify customers when product is ready for pick-upCandidates should be comfortable lifting merchandise to organize for customer pick upPreferred Qualifications:Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekendsAbility to lift up to 50lbs repetitivelyExcellent decision making ability and problem solving skillsDetailed-oriented; able to work both independently and as part of a teamSelf-motivated to drive completion of tasks as quickly and accurately as possibleComfortable working in all types of weather conditions
