Job Description

Join us!We run mission critical worldwide DNS infrastructure. As a DevOps Specialist you will deal with problems like packet capture data streaming, zone transfer latency, and finding ways to bring additional visibility to the performance and operation of these systems. DevSecOps is something that excites you. You will be dealing with hundreds of thousands of queries per second while deploying code via CI/CD pipeline to DNS infrastructure around the globe. You are passionate about innovative ways to market and harness the latest technology and trends and bring your learning to a highly engaged team.What you’ll do:

  • Help build and maintain Canada’s vital internet infrastructure
  • Leverage best of breed open-source technologies to help CIRA increase velocity, predictability, and efficiency in deploying systems to the cloud in addition to on-prem DNS locations around the world.
  • Use CI/CD concepts to automate dynamic environment provisioning, monitoring and changes to infrastructure.
  • Work with your team and product management teams to understand, monitor and report on SLA, SLO and key performance metrics for the CIRA suite of products, infrastructure, and services.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
What you bring:
  • 3+ years of DevOps experience.
  • Intermediate experience with Ansible, Terraform, Python, shell scripting
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux troubleshooting and Linux administration best practices.
  • Experience creating and maintaining workflows with CI/CD Suites (TeamCity, Jenkins. etc.)
  • Working knowledge of git, TLS/SSL, DNS, and log aggregation.
  • An understanding of enterprise level Incident management and monitoring for critical internet
  • Experience in interacting with internal teams to achieve shared goals and solve shared problems.
  • A desire to understand unique and interesting technologies which underpin the core of the internet.
  • An understanding of enterprise change management and working in an ISO 27001 environment.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with high availability DNS (BIND, KNOT, NSD) systems in a mission critical environment
  • Experience with building, deploying, and troubleshooting docker or k8s workloads in a self-managed environment.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes, and how they can interact with Agile development methodologies
  • AWS, GCP or Azure experience.
  • Broad knowledge of industry trends for infrastructure as code, GitOps and other emerging methodologies.
