The CFO will have both day-to-day and ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position. This seasoned strategist not only understands current accounting practices and trends but has proven experience raising capital and adapting to change–both in growth and downsizing. As a member of our senior management, he or she will be comfortable in a leadership role that demands clear communication and presentation skills.Key responsibilities

• Ownership of financial operations of the company, including day-to-day accounting and finance operations and cash management
• Ownership of financial planning & analysis function, including the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, and analysis of actual results as compared to plans
• Lead fundraising initiatives including non-dilutive (bank finance loans) and/or equity financing

• Ensure adequate internal controls are implemented and enforced in the company’s processes
• Prepare relevant financial reporting to management, investors, the board of directors, and other stakeholders, and attend meetings with such parties as required
• Oversight of tax and any other regulatory filings or audits
• Management, mentoring, and oversight of the finance team
• Support SRED & grant Initiatives
• Support in due diligence process
• Participate as a member of the senior management team in developing, actioning, and supporting strategic initiatives of the company

Qualifications:Minimums:

• 10-15 years in finance/accounting with a minimum of 5 years at the CFO level.
• Experience raising capital at seed and series A-D stages
• Experience in raising non dilutive capital
• Experience in applying for government grants
• Experience with venture, angel backed companies and financing activities
• Experience working in a high-growth environment (e.g early or late stage startup)
• Track record of rolling up your sleeves, digging in and solving problems, planning for change, and managing companies through change in a rapid manner
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team that includes a combination of finance and accounting

Preferred:

• MBA, CPA, or relevant accounting experience
• Experience in a fast growing startup
• Understanding of US sales and income tax requirements
• Understanding of cross-border and international operations (transfer pricing, tax structuring, and multi-jurisdictional requirements)
• Experience with Netsuite or similar ERP
• Experience with Metabase or other BI dashboard system
