Communications products include news releases, ministerial statements, speeches, video scripts, media lines, backgrounders and social media content.French Writer/Editor - IS-03 and IS-04The primary role of the French writer-editor consists in translating Communications products from English into French and revising French products for the Communications Group at Transport Canada. Communications products include news releases, ministerial statements, speeches, video scripts, media lines, backgrounders and social media content. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in translation (from English into French) from a recognized postsecondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*.
• At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education standard.

• Recent experience means within the last two (2) years.

Stream 2 : French Writer/Editor - IS-03ExperienceEXP-1: Recent and significant** experience editing a variety of French texts intended for different audiences.EXP-2: Recent and significant** experience translating documents from English into French.EXP-3: Recent and significant** experience comparing texts translated from English into French.EXP-4: Recent and significant** experience advising clients on linguistic questions.**Recent and significant experience is defined as the breadth and depth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of two (2) years or more within the last three (3) years.Stream 3 : French Writer/Editor - IS-04ExperienceEXP-1: Recent and significant*** experience editing a variety of French texts intended for different audiences.EXP-2: Recent and significant*** experience translating documents from English into French in a professional context with little or no supervision.EXP-3: Recent and significant*** experience comparing texts translated from English into French.EXP-4: Recent and significant*** experience advising clients on linguistic questions.***Recent and significant experience means experience acquired by carrying out a broad range of related activities in the field of work in question.
