As the General Manager, you will be a true people leader and provide overall direction to Project Managers and Project Coordinators for complete project performance including costs, schedule, safety, quality, and project status.In this role, you will also ensure compliance with the contract, company policies and procedures, legislation and labour requirements.This role is located in the Toronto area. Relocation assistance will be offered for any successful candidate that resides outside of reasonable driving distance to the Toronto area. Must be able to drive to project sites and Manufacturing Plants in Grimsby and Cambridge on a regular basis.Your work will include:

  • Manage all aspects of a diverse team of project staff including project managers, project coordinators and project admin.
  • Support the deployment and implementation of standards and learning tools from the National PMO.
  • Ensure needed supplies and equipment are purchased within budget, scope and time.
  • Ensure goals are met in customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team performance.
  • Regularly report work progress, status, goals, updates and issues to all required stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships and support subcontractor negotiations and communication with clients, engineers, and sub-trades.
  • Analyze program risks and implement/manage required interventions to ensure project goals are achieved, including handling emergencies, disruptions and unanticipated events.

  • A minimum of 10 years’ project management experience in design, construction and installations on Single and Multi-family Residential, Commercial and industrial is ideal
  • Experience with leading a team of project staff is required
  • PMP certification considered an asset
  • Proven experience managing medium to large projects
  • Experience working with various levels of government
  • Contract law knowledge and contract management experience
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, scheduling software, PMIS platforms
  • Prior experience with Panelized or Modular construction (including infrastructure) is considered an asset
  • Prior experiences in affordable/social housing and residential projects considered an asset
