Job Description

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Golangamp; Python Software Developer Contractor with strong expertise in Golang and Python, and a passion for open-source development and community engagement. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable software systems.You will be expected to take ownership of repositories, contribute high-quality code, manage releases, and foster a healthy community around the projects.This is a 6-monthamp; full-time contract role working in a hyrbid model (3 days a week), reporting to our Ottawa office.This assignment may be extended and/or converted to permanent basis after the initial 6 months based on performance and business needs.The hourly rate for this posiiton is between CAD 56 and 66 per hour, based in years of experience and internal equity. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable applications using Golang and Python.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, DevOps, and QA to deliver features from concept to production.
  • Lead by example in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
  • Write clear documentation for both internal and external audiences, including contributing guides, API references, and architecture diagrams.
  • Actively engage with the open source community: triage issues, review PRs, respond to questions, and guide contributors.
  • Define and maintain development standards and best practices in collaboration with internal teams and the wider open source community.
  • Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives.
