Job Description

Collins Aerospace in Ottawa is a world leader in wireless communications networking, with products such as high-data-rate HF/VHF/UHF modems and the Self Configuring Relay Network (SCRN) for ad-hoc wireless networks. We are developing the next generation of HF radios that support significant throughput improvements and ad-hoc networking features, as well as developing Software Defined Radio networking waveforms for customers around the world.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in activities related to coordination of and planning for the IT architecture of an assigned area.
  • Participate in the development of single components or select phases of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare the installation of operating systems, network and application software, and computer and network hardware.
  • Laptop preparation/flashing and assist with onboarding new users (day one setup)
  • Support the coordination of communication between engineers and end users regarding system capabilities and constraints and end user system requirements and difficulties.
  • Coordinate with system analysts to help define and resolve systems programming and integration issues.
  • May assist with manufacturing build, test and troubleshooting of current product line hardware.
  • Documentation of existing solutions
Basic Qualifications:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen.
  • Must either hold or be eligible for a Government of Canada Secret Level Security Clearance and Controlled Good Access.
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Detail oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Good team working ability and self-motivated with a desire to learn.
