Job Description

Second Set of Hands is a home organizing company that specializes in home organization, packing and unpacking. We are dedicated to helping our clients get organized and also help our clients who are moving with their packing and unpacking needs.We are hiring a part-time home organizer.   • Is naturally organized and loves to sort, organize, pack and unpack
  • Would prefer to work in a client’s home rather than be sitting at a desk all day
  • Has a flexible schedule and willing to work up to 4 shifts a week
  • Is physically fit and able to lift heavy boxes and bags (up to 30 lbs) throughout the shifts
  • Able to stand and bend for long periods of time (up to 8 hour a day)
  • Is passionate about helping clients clear their clutter and get organized
Job Responsibilities
  • Help clients to declutter, organize, create filing systems, maximize space and time
  • Pack up donations, put donations into your vehicle and drop them off
  • Put garbage and recyclables in clients’ garbage area (ex. garage)
  • Recommend organizing products and systems to clients which will help to keep their home organized
  • Carefully wrap, pack and unpack household items for our clients who are moving
  • Maintain a full supply of organizing products on hand
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Perform other duties when required
Requirements:
  • Compassionate and have an understanding for those with chronic disorganization, ADHD and depression
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle is required (mid to large size)
  • Willing to work some week days and Saturdays
  • Must be available to work full day and half day shifts between the hours of 9:30am until 5:30pm plus travel time. No evening work required!
  • Commitment of up to 4 days a week during our busy weeks are required
  • Live in Ottawa or Nepean area
  • Able to lift 30 pounds - heavy lifting is required
  • Capable of standing and bending for long periods of time
  • Must be willing to work in an environment that may be very dirty and have pets
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Previous social services, clothing retail, home organizing and/or packing experience is an asset, but not required
Please note: This position is a part-time position with no guaranteed shifts. However, on average there are two to four shifts per week with opportunity for more shifts during our busy weeks.
