HR AssistantElementary Academic Staffing Division100%, Regular, 12 month work year35 hours per week, 7 hours per day from 8:30 am to 4:30 pmESP, Level 5 salary range: $40,150 to $51,291Under the direction of the Human Resources Officer and/or Administrator of Human Resource Services, the Human Resources Assistant supports the Elementary Staffing and Recruitment process, and serves as the frontline contact to employees requiring Human Resources services. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, organizing new hire packages, preparing correspondence, creating and maintaining human resources files, performing data entry and maintaining a variety of HR databases and spreadsheets. The HR Assistant will also help in organizing interviews and schedules, researching files and information, responding to inquiries and maintaining casual lists.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will hold a community college diploma in office administration and 2-3 years of relevant experience. Experience working in a human resources environment, and can work in both English and French is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.Required Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of human resources processes, related Board policies and procedures, and relevant collective agreements and/or handbooks.Advanced level of proficiency with Word and Excel in order to generate and track large volume of correspondence and other related HR documents.Proficient in other software applications including Google Docs/Sheets, HR/Payroll Integrated System (IPPS) and Apply to Education.Essential to this position is the ability to organize and manage workload, multiple & conflicting priorities and demands while meeting daily and weekly deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required for exchanging, directing and/or providing general HR information to others using tact, diplomacy and discretion.Protecting confidentiality, integrity and privacy of employee information and files.Must be able to demonstrate initiative and use good judgement skills.Demonstrates a commitment to customer service, and ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.How to Apply :The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board uses Apply to Education (ATE) to manage applications for job competitions.
