Job Description

Brookside Senior Living is an independently owned 82 suite retirement residence located in Kanata North.We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Manager. This position will include:

  • General repairs to buildings, equipment, and furnishings. Some plumbing and electrical, and mechanical knowledge is required. Being handy with experience in building systems is a must.
  • General janitorial duties within the building and the grounds.
  • General decorating of rooms and other areas including painting, wallpapering, and surface repairs.
  • Maintaining the effectiveness of building mechanical, electrical and fire detection and safety systems.
  • Routine surveillance of grounds, including parking lots. Maintain the grounds in a neat and tidy fashion including summer lawn care/landscaping.
  • Ordering or purchasing supplies on occasion as required.
  • Maintain a high level of safety and security for residents, staff, visitors, guests.
  • Maintain the preventive maintenance program.
  • Managing the housekeeping department and overall building cleanliness
  • Managing pest control and waste collections
  • Managing building systems including telecommunications
  • Managing building emergency preparidness and fireplans.
  • Develop a network of local contractors.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports - keeping records on building utilities consumed, repairs and adjustments made.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of maintenance supplies for day-to-day use. To work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by:
i. Using or wearing the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used ii. Reporting to the supervisor the absence of, or defect in, any equipment or protective device of which she/he is aware and may endanger herself/himself or another workeriii. Reporting to the employer or supervisor any contravention of the Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazards of which she/he knows.REQUIRED:VSPC Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance - must have or be willing to get one.TB Test negative - must be willing to provide proof of negative TB Test and COVID19 Vaccination.Must have valid drivers license and vehicle.Good communication and social skills. Must have patience and compassion for seniors.Renovation experience is considered a very strong asset.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per yearBenefits:
