With Kandy, companies of all sizes and types can quickly embed real-time communications capabilities into their existing applications and business processes.We’re looking for a DevOps leader to be an integral part of our solution delivery team at AVCT/Kandy reporting to the Director of Verification and Labs. You will provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of Kandy Labs cloud solutions in support of our UCaaS/CPaaS labs in Ottawa and beyond. This role is a key conduit between design, test and lab operations.Responsibilities:You will lead and build a team of Lab Operations a DevOps Engineers, providing day-to-day supervision and coaching for the following duties:

  • Lead a team of devops engineers and specialists in support of the R&D, Test and GPS functions.
  • Create and maintain automated deployments of Virtual Machine (VMWare, KVM, and others) development and testing environments.
  • Install and administer network switches, routers, and other network gear.
  • Install and administer various Servers/Services: both industry standard as well as proprietary to our internal solutions.
  • Design and document infrastructure and provide ongoing maintenance.
  • Hardware and software asset management
  • Work with solution architecture to automate deployment, monitoring, upgrading and testing processes in Kandy Labs
  • Break down and estimate work effort
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Expertise with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM and HCI technologies.
  • Expertise in Linux system internals
  • Expertise in networking with deep understanding of TCP/IP protocols and tools (e.g. wireshark, tcpdump, etc.)
  • Some familiarity in various programming languages: Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, Linux scripts
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker or rkt a plus
  • Familiarity with Network Security or Information Technology domain space a plus
