Ottawa Airport - Security SupervisorSite: The Ottawa/Macdonald-Cartier International AirportCity: OttawaStatus: Full TimePay Rate: $21.14Hours: Continental Rotation - 0600-1800/1800-0600Site Description:If you are looking for a dynamic and challenging work environment, then our Airport division is for you! We are looking for a focused and experienced Security Supervisor to manage all levels of our security service from Departures to Arrivals! Wherever your career path may take you, if youre looking to advance to the next level of Security/Law Enforcement, then this post is the right fit for you!The Ottawa International Airport is located at 1000 Airport Parkway Priv., and is accessible by vehicle, by transit, and by foot/bicycle traffic via the Capital Pathway. The Airport itself is composed of three levels: Arrivals/Baggage Claim, Admin/Gate Access, and Check-In/Security.All of our guards are provided with free parking inside the Airport Parkade.

• Supervise teams of 15+ staff at any given time
• Staff, monitor, and maintain a working schedule
• Moderate physical activity; standing and walking for long periods of time
• Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training
• Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift
• Ensures site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and security policies and procedures
• Ensures all Security Officers have received the mandatory training and documents all training
• Motivates staff and issues commendations
• Disciplines staff, when necessary, and ensures proper documentation is passed onto head office
• Attendance Management
• Performs security audits as required
• Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
• Provide proactive and reactive security patrols.
• Communicates any concerns/issues with Site Manager
• Meet with the Client to discuss any issues (when requested)
• Any other duties as instructed by the Site Manager

Requisite Knowledge and Skills:

• High Customer Service Skills
• Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations.
• Able to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
• Able to follow, and enforce safety codes, parking regulations, and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.
• Present a professional image to the public.
• Adhere to our Code of Ethics in performing job requirements.
• Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Moderate physical activity including standing and/or walking for extended periods of time

Site Requirements:At the time of the interview, applicants must be able to produce proof of completion of the following:

• Must hold a valid RAIC.
• Must have AVOP, or successfully complete AVOP training.
• Must have minimum 2 years of either supervisory experience or airport experience.
• Must have valid drivers license.
• Must have security license.
• Must be able to schedule.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must display strong leadership skills.
• Must be able to work a Full-Time Continental Rotation schedule
• Must have weekend availability.

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:

• Immunization Record
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)

Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:

• Additional courses as assigned
