Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:The Prospect Management Coordinator reports directly to the Manager, Prospect Research and Management. This position is responsible for providing prospect management services to support the University’s fundraising goals and initiatives. The incumbent plays a critical role in maintaining the prospect management system to track fundraising activities, and in ensuring the currency and integrity of prospect management data.Qualifications:The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of major gifts fundraising and philanthropy.
  • Good knowledge of prospect management systems and research methods.
  • Proven strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent client service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook, and experience working with a relational database, preferably Banner Advancement.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in handling highly sensitive and confidential information ethically and with discretion.
Education and Experience:The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
  • Completion of a university degree.
  • Three years of experience in a fundraising environment with preference given to applicants with experience in university advancement and good working knowledge of the prospect management process.
